always puts me in a happy mood!!
what would I have done if I never danced to this in the basement of hott & crowded Spanish clubs?
I had such a lovely time at the Alpha Tau Omega formal this weekend with my darling Preview Partner, what a gentleman, opening doors and all!!! I’m so thankful to have such an amazing, funny and lighthearted group of friends in my life. And who doesn’t love to dance the night away or get all fancied up for the evening? These kids sure do!!

Its funny how the world works. How you hear certain things at the time you need to hear them most, or when all of a sudden you’re reassured that your life goals can actually happen and are realistic because they were once the goals of someone else too
Like today.. I met a Mount alumni who came to my night class to talk about philanthropy and the role its played in her life as an ever growing, life long philanthropist. I swear this person is literally the person that I hope to be. Have you ever met someone like that? All you can think when you talk to them or hear their experiences is something along the lines of- what can I do to make sure my future includes all of those things you just said!! I want that life and experiences like those! How do you find a job like this!! or you just awe over how simply cool their life is in general? An alum, who isn’t much older then myself, went on the same Social Responsibility trip that I took last year to El Salvador when she attended Mount. Then she was studying Spanish and spent a semester abroad in no other city in Spain then San Sebastian!!! Now she works for a company based in Brazil, which allows her to travel and she visits Donostia at least once a year.
What the heck! Who is this girl!
I feel like she was just the contact that I needed to meet right now to reassure myself that I’m on the right track. That if I hope to work in the helping professions I can and I’m building the right skills to help me move in that direction.
Plus it was so fun to talk to someone about San Sebastian! That was just what I needed too!! To be able to hear from someone the huge impact the semester had on their life too..and I guess what I really needed to hear was the fact that you know what…I can always go back and still feel the same love for that beautiful, captivating place.
What a way to end the week..I love feeling like what I’m going to school for and the experiences I have had are going to keep motivating me, inspiring me and helping me stay on the path that I can only dream of my life traveling on.
…. Essentially life is good.
these guys get my slow Mondays rolling- love em!
Slowly and surely I’m getting back into the swing of things here in a snowy, then sunny, then snowy again Ohio. Back to a life filled of the library, countless meetings, countless chapters to read, countless cups of coffee and always longing for that light at the end of the tunnel..the weekend. This weekend was my sororities date party, a famous Hollywood pairs theme. Lord only knows what made some of my favorite Mount people and I think being KISS was a good idea, but we took it and ran turning up sequined, studded, face painted, guitars in hand and in all our glory.AND I’m not mad about it, its just what I need to get me out of this slump!!

We even put in a request to sing “I wanna rock and roll all night and party everydayyy” and rocked a little number on stage together. Happy weekend!

in honor of a rainy January day:)
